K-Frame Page

So you have a 200 6 banger and you need a K-Frame swap?

Everyone says to get a 79-93 Fox Chassis K-Frame from a 4, V6, V8 car.

If you look at the picture below, its a K-Frame from my 86 ThunderBird TurboCoupe. It has square mounting plates that are welded onto the frame.

I have seen this type also on some Cougars and T-Bird's with 5.0 in them at the junkyards.

If you look at the bolt holes that hold the motor mount onto the K-Frame, they run horizontally through the square perches. Stay away from this one!

I can't see anyway of making this K-Frame work with a V8 swap-over.

On the left (red one) is a standard 4cyl or V8 Mustang K-Frame which is the correct one needed for a V8 swap.
On the right is a 200 6cyl K-Frame. I have heard of guys using the 6 banger frame by cutting the ears back and re-drilling holes for the V8 mounts.
